Describe what changed
Start with the symptom: no airflow, weak airflow, warm air, an unexpected shutdown or a fault message. Note whether the system previously worked under similar conditions. Different symptoms can point to different questions.
Record outside conditions, parked duration, settings and the battery display. If you see a fault code, photograph it exactly. These facts are more useful than repeatedly changing settings without noting the result.
Check only approved accessible items
Consult your manual for owner checks. These may include confirming operating mode, examining an accessible filter and clearing blocked air outlets. Follow the instructions for your model.
Do not bypass protection, open electrical equipment or handle refrigerant components. If there is smoke, a burning smell or visible damage, stop using the affected equipment and follow the system’s safety instructions while seeking qualified help.
Separate demand from a sudden fault
A sun-heated cab or a longer parked stop can create a different demand from a mild overnight test. Other loads may also reduce available storage. Tell support about those changes, even if they seem unrelated.
A sudden performance change under comparable conditions is different from a system working hard in a much hotter cab. Good notes help the technician determine which situation needs investigation.
Make the support call productive
Have the system model, installation date, installer details and photos ready. Explain the exact checks already performed. Ask what information or approved next step the technician needs.
Polar Fox support can help guide the process using your installed configuration. A short operating log and clear pictures often save more time than an unsupported guess about which part needs replacement.
