Electric does not mean maintenance-free
An electric APU avoids a separate combustion engine in the cooling power source, but the complete installation still needs attention. Filters, airflow paths, mounts and electrical equipment have their own requirements.
Use the owner manual for your exact system as the schedule. Do not copy a diesel APU’s engine-service interval onto electric equipment or assume that no engine means no inspection is needed.
Keep accessible airflow areas clear
Follow the approved procedure for inspecting and cleaning or replacing filters. Check that luggage and bedding are not blocking the return or outlets. Keep exterior airflow areas clear as directed by the manufacturer.
Record the date of each routine task. A simple log helps identify whether a change in performance follows a missed service item or a different operating environment.
Inspect without opening protected equipment
Look for visible damage, unusual movement or warning messages during normal checks. Report changes to the installer or support team. Do not open battery cases, alter wiring or attempt refrigerant work as part of an owner routine.
If a fastener, cable or mount appears damaged, ask a qualified technician to assess it. The important owner action is recognizing a change and supplying clear information, not improvising a repair.
Keep one useful service record
Store the installation date, component models, manuals, warranty details and service notes together. Include photos of the normal installation and contact information for the installer.
Ask Polar Fox which routine tasks are approved for the owner and which require professional service. This keeps maintenance simple while ensuring the system is checked according to the equipment actually fitted to your truck.
