A make name is only the beginning
Freightliner trucks span different models, years and cab layouts. The available mounting space, battery arrangement and existing equipment can change substantially between trucks. A product recommendation needs more detail than the brand on the hood.
Give the installer your exact truck information and photos. Include modifications, prior APU equipment and any components occupying the proposed mounting area. This supports an informed fit review before you order.
Use installation photos thoughtfully
A gallery can show how equipment looks on a similar truck and help you identify questions. Look for views of the rear cab, battery location, mounting position and routing rather than relying only on a finished exterior shot.
A similar-looking truck does not guarantee identical clearance. Ask the installer to confirm dimensions and access on your vehicle. Photos are a conversation aid, not proof that brackets and routing can be copied without inspection.
Discuss the sleeper and loads
Explain which areas you want cooled and what you run while parked. Tell the installer whether your priority is overnight rest, daytime breaks or both. Sun exposure and the length of the stop influence the capacity discussion.
Also share your driving schedule so charging can be evaluated alongside storage. A long highway route and a local operation can require different energy plans even when the trucks share a model name.
Request a truck-specific proposal
Ask for the proposed equipment, mounting approach and electrical integration in the quote. Confirm service access and any work that affects existing truck components.
